Banksy is Back!

The infamous rebel or street artist, whatever you wish to call him is back with a bang. An allegedly new Banksy piece has appeared on the side of a Poundland store near Turnpike Lane in north London, ahead of a huge Monarchy event this year namely the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The artwork depicts a hunched child sewing a few Union Jack bunting. As well as being a statement on child labour, this piece seems to also criticise the whole notion of Britishness. A child who doesn’t have British features is given the laborious task of producing these British emblems in probably a non-British country. There seems to be a lack of patriotism and definitely highlights the hypocrisy. Definitely not wise thoughts to be lingering on especially if the Olympics are only around the corner..
