Just because you’ve read something, seen something, or talked to someone who you disagree with, doesn’t give you the right to denounce them or their existence. Nor should you turn a blind eye to what they’re saying. We should be more open to criticism and opposing views; it allows us to openly debate principles and opinions. We should observe, study and appreciate those who do not agree with us. Only then can we interpret and understand facts and perspectives… Only then can we move forward as intellectual beings.
And that’s where Aristotle’s saying (above) resonates with me so much:
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
